Design for Social Good | SNAP! Branded Art Kit (Thesis)

SNAP Art Kit is a branded kit full of easy-to-do art projects for adults with special needs. Completed for my Senior Thesis, we were asked to find a problem in society and through design, make a positive change.

The problem I defined was that there are simply not enough creative and independent programs for adults with special needs. I wanted to give them an outlet where they could both acknowledge their emotions and explore their creativity.

SNAP does just that, and as the name suggests, it's a snap to do! Simply order the kit that comes complete with a branded sketch book, calendar, emotion icon stickers, buttons, an apron, and other supplies. Each month a new craft will come via subscription to the recipient's door. With the completion of each craft it's encouraged to take a snapshot and with the given washi tape, adhere it to the calendar.

At the end of 12 months, the individual has a record of their feelings as well as a portfolio or work--tracking progression and growth.

The Calendar design, complete with a sticker system to indicate emotional state for each day. Makes it easy for aides and family to check in on progress. Example craft: April Showers, a water color + straw craft.

The art kit itself, as well as a glimpse of the fun extras inside and what some of the monthly subscription packages might look like.
